ISTQB certification and/ or postman API testing experience remains to be a strong decisive and desirable factor among the junior roles.
There is a continually growing demand for automation testers and while talent is available the base salaries in Malta have been rising for Automation Testers. This has certainly created some challenges within the job market and candidates are relocating to Malta to take advantage of the strong career opportunities for these QA professionals. The most sought-after skills for automated testing are currently Selenium, Java/C# and SQL.
Average salaries for both manual and automated testing have remained relatively stable over the last year. We have noticed a particular rise in the need for these roles within the Financial Services and iGaming sectors. There is an inconsistency between the movement of automated talent and the roles available within the market and companies are generally displaying a flexible approach towards training good manual QA Testers with some exposure to automation to fully equipped Automation Testers.
